Little Magpie
Wholesale that runs itself: a native Shopify B2B portal with bilingual ordering, zero third-party apps, and 80% less admin work
Little Magpie is a premium Canadian gift and lifestyle brand with a growing network of wholesale stockists across English and French markets. Every order was placed by email. Pricing was managed in spreadsheets. Quoting took 45 minutes per request. The team was told a proper B2B portal would require expensive third-party apps or an entirely separate platform. A different approach proved otherwise: a fully native Shopify B2B implementation with bilingual commerce, self-serve ordering, and no middleware costs.

Tech Stack
The Challenge
Little Magpie had outgrown their ad hoc wholesale process but faced a common barrier: every agency quote included third-party apps adding $600 to $1,200 per month in recurring costs, with data fragmentation built in. Custom pricing lived in spreadsheets outside Shopify. Bilingual requirements were handled by duplicating product listings. There was no stockist login, no order history, and no visibility into account health.
The business needed stockists to be able to order themselves, with their own pricing and their language, without the team touching every transaction.
The Solution
We delivered a fully native Shopify B2B build designed around the realities of bilingual wholesale: company-level pricing, a single translated catalogue, self-serve ordering, and automation that keeps the team out of routine transactions.
Native Shopify B2B company and pricing configuration
Shopify's native B2B company objects were configured to assign each stockist to a company account with custom price lists, payment terms (Net 30 and Net 60), and minimum order thresholds. Each stockist logs in to see their own pricing and order history.
Bilingual storefront via Shopify Markets
Shopify Markets delivered a fully bilingual buyer experience from a single product catalogue. Product titles, descriptions, and checkout copy serve in English or French based on account locale. No duplicate listings. No translation plugins. The admin stays clean and the buyer experience is seamless in both languages.
Wholesale checkout and Net terms automation
Draft order workflows and automated invoicing handle Net 30 and Net 60 terms without manual intervention. Stockists place orders, receive confirmation, and access invoices. The team only touches an order when an exception requires it.
Stockist onboarding and account management
A structured onboarding flow handles the full new stockist journey: application form, approval workflow, company account creation, and portal access. Onboarding time dropped from three days to under two hours.
Reorder automation and admin reporting
Shopify dashboards track stockist purchase frequency, average order value, and dormant accounts. Automated reorder reminders trigger based on purchase inactivity thresholds, prompting reorders before stock runs out at the stockist level.
The Results
Every stockist now orders through the portal in their preferred language with their own pricing, without a single email to the Little Magpie team. The $800/month in third-party app costs competing proposals had included was eliminated. Manual quoting time dropped to zero. The bilingual storefront runs from one product catalogue with no duplication and no synchronization errors.
